I made this as a practice piece yesterday, based on the setting of my own text adventure game.
In my original idea, he is a fire spirit granted the rank of knight by the Flame Lord. If you want to use him in your story, he can be anything you like! (￣︶￣)
It's not a polished piece. I first pixelated a sketch, then refined it further — which is why some parts look a bit rough. I hope I can do some serious practice later. Sorry, great Pixel Art God.
Someone gave me professional advice on image sizing — but I kind of wasted it by going with this sloppy drawing method. Sorry about that. You'll probably need to adjust this asset when using it, and I'm sorry to you too.
I drew a small mini version in the top-right corner. I know this asset has a fairly limited range of uses, but if it can actually help you, then I'd consider it a decent piece of work!

Your pixels don't pixel. Did you overlay multiple layers of pixelated sketches? It looks a bit different than what AI does when it tries to imitate pixelart, but that gives the whole image a bit of an AI-ish look.
I don't think it is AI generated, it just makes it a bit look like it. AI wouldn't draw invisible yellow blocks into an image. What was that blue orb / sphere supposed to be?
Did you transform the face? The "pixels" there are all angled and antialiased
An easy way to get pixels right is to just draw it smaller and use zoom in your drawing tools instead of having huge pseudo-pixels made up of 8x8 pixels. You can still upscale it leater for preview. The algorithm "Nearest Neighbor" will keep a pixelated look.
There are also tools to remove color information from invisible pixels in PNG. Compression works a lot better if it's all the same color.

The drawing software I use is not a professional pixel art program. It doesn't seem to have proper pixel art features. I tagged it as "pixel art" because I used a pixel brush for most of the drawing. I wasn't very strict about it. I'll try to see if I can change the tag and remove the "pixel art" label. As for AI — I didn't use AI. Uh, as I said, I pixelated my non-pixel sketch, then kept refining it with a pixel brush, which caused it to change nature significantly 🙇🙇. I also used the "Liquify" tool, which distorts the image. That made it impossible to align the pixels properly. I realize this was a mistake, and I plan to try a more disciplined approach in my next practice. I don't think any true pixel art would use that tool.

You can use 'Libresprite' its basically like the free version of Aseprite and its still good
Here is a rather automatic conversion with semi-transparency removed (GIMP), downscaling (mtPaint) and palette reduced to 32 colors (mtPaint). Aggressive file size shrinking with oxipng and zopflipng to 13.9KiB, but OGA might convert it again.
This would need further edits to look like the sketch. The color transitions look worse now. Generally for a transparent background it would also need a continious outline to not mix with whatever is behind it. You already drew that in most places, but not everywhere.
Remixed under same license.
I wouldn't be able to draw something on that level. I can just optimize details.

Unbelievable — so that's what "blue orb" refers to! I'm certain I didn't draw any shape like that. I just checked in my painting software, and even with different background colors, no such clearly tinted shape appears. Also, I never tried to dot out a pattern like that with a large brush.

The "orb" is there in your screenshot. It's that light reflection in the background. It uses semi-transparency. My screenshot is just with transparency disabled, that always makes semi-transparency look weird. It's not visible in the preview image because it is on a white background.
