These are 12 single steps for use in games. They were taken from http://www.freesound.org/people/Fantozzi/packs/10338/ under CC0, where you can get even more steps (but will have to slice them up - please upload them here too!)
16bit 44100Hz Flac and OGG Vorbis file versions available in the 7z archive.
"Sand" sounds like grass too. "Stone" could be most hard surfaces
