if you were to upload more units under two factions, i would probably attempt to make an html rts game with these doggos. been wanting to make an rts for a while, i have.
Interesting proposition!
I've been wanting to make an RTS or another strategy game too lately.
If these are in demand I will definitely do more for the time being. What should the second faction be? The French?
i've got a lot on my plate right now, so i wouldn't start coding like TODAY, so NO RUSH.
i would make it a little violent though... like when the doggos die they blow up into little red chunks ARF!
if you made the second faction the french, you could have poodles ;p
Yeah or mastiffs or bichon friseés, if we ever get to the british they can be bulldogs and the russians can be borzois.
I can make some gory death animations. And yeah I will need lots of time to make these anyway, so there's no pressure on yhou to start coding immeditely at all ^^
lol now im planning it all out in my head... the resource units (Kibbles) could be harvested from Kibble Mines!
the higher tier buildings can have a dog-house flavor... etc. etc.
Yeah great idea, it could be cool to have a Warcraft 1 kinda feel I think, but just with slightly better controls than that game XD
I will keep the Kibble mine idea in my head and try to draw one sometime. Should you have some form on Engineer unit to build and harvest stuff?
or Pionier for the Germans
If you want I could also do a soundtrack maybe. But let's see about that ^^
ooooh i was thinking command and conquer... havent played WC1 so i dont know how they match up....
i was thinking that you would build squads of doggos to send to the frontline, with low HP, so that theres a ton of gore and its more like the great war.
do whatever you want on the soundtrack. i cant work on this idea for like another two weeks
Maybe a C&C/Red Alert style would be better yes.
And I'll just make stuff ready for you to use whenever you can.
cool beens, spring.
heres a little 2-minute-2-sketch gorePop in the same reso as the new little dying doggo you added.
this is the kinda thing i would add on death. bc i like gore in muh games.
Lol you draw blood a lot better than me.
I changed the death animation to make it looks a litle more like that.
i didn't realize the previews were animated! looks great!
the death animation is spot-on. pop!
Thanks!
ha! you did the kibble mines! looking good! and did you change that death animation? looks chunkier than before... i think thats the trick, yknow, chunkiness.
hey you gotta do the french though, too.
you can have german snipers and footsoldiers, french scouts and grenadiers. oh and you should most def do an engineer unit for each faction im definitely picturing some Red Alert, here.
EDIT: the kibble mine looks SLIGHTLY stylistically inferior to the earlier tents. if i may say so. design is great, but the outlines might be a bit too heavy?
Ah you are probably right. I will draw a new kibble mine with the same design but more in line with the tents ^^
(the perspective of the mine isn't entirely correct either)
Redrew the mine, it should look a bit better now.
yah looks good srping. dont get too caught up in the kettle mines. and dont go too far in another direction! your basic idea is the ticket, i think. maybe move on to those bitchin frisbees or whatever theyre called ;p
to figure out the perspective, you might pop the structures onto some iso grass tiles you have lying around (or here... the art here really is pretty stellar). i think theyre prolly fine as is, though... a little wonkiness is never out of the question
Ok. I will try and draw a ground tile then. I've been working a little bit on some french doggos but after making that grass tile I will take a little break. As you said we have plenty of time right?
Trired to place the buildings on my ground tile. It looks ok I think, adding some shadows would help but I can do that.
good start, spring. yah that's enough to start with, for sure.
What do you mean?
Ah sorry, that was a stupid question. :P
mag den waegen, spring! they look great.
Thanks!
I will see what I can think of next.
Ah! Love that dog paw cursor!
