Custom 3D Sprites help

Anonymous

I can't find any sprites tutorials. I need someone to tell me how to make sprites(in detail). I would like to make my own game with my own characters so I need details and suggestions on...

3D modeling(blender/sketchup)

3D Maps

Some 3D Programming advice

and anything you think I'll find helpful. (Especially how to make human/fantasy creature figures in blender/google sketchup)

I also heard to put the "skin" onto 3D models you need to make an image of every dimension of the character, so, I'll need help with that.

And I need animation 101 Lol.

Thank you!

For general Blender-related stuff, I have found this tutorial to be endlessly helpful: http://wiki.blender.org/index.php/Doc:Tutorials/Animation/BSoD/Character...

As far as turning a model into a bunch of sprites, it's really just a matter of rendering it from all the directions that you want to use.  I'll let someone else elaborate more on that.

Well, perhaps you could explain a little more about what experience you do have?  Also, how much time do you have to learn?  It is not an easy or quick task to learn everything you will need to know.  :)  If you are totally new to 3d then i would suggest finding a game that interests you, and work with one of their experienced artists while you learn.  Each person is unique in how they learn of course so only you would know the best path to take.  There are several sprites on the site which you could download and play with as well.  Im not a artist, just learning, but hopefully, others will be able to help you more.  Good luck!
