I created this character when I was doing the tile sets, and wanted to do some animation so I used the character. I haven't done animaton since I was like 10 years old, so I am very rusty so they may not be great but i thought they were pretty good for me anyway, i apoligise in advance if the sprite sheet isn't good, first time making one, it should be ok.

the character in the sprite sheet are 32 x 32 pixels in size, you can edit them how you want, the images in the previews have been enlarged to 96 x 96.

there are 15 states which are:

Walk, Runniing, Idle, Runstop, Climbing, Shimmey, Swing bat, Death, Hurt, Pushing, Swimming, Tread water, Crawling, Fall, & Crouch.

hope it is helpful.

Nice work.  I really like that you included climbing, crawling and pushing....not enough platformer sprites have those animations.

Only suggestions would be to make the swipe effect on the melee attack a little lighter/more transparent, as it kinda pops out of nowhere.  Maybe use streaks instead of a solid color?  The eye is slightly off sync in either frames 3 or 4 as well - it's like he's looking back as he's swinging down.

Otherwise, looks great!  Well done.

EDIT -- holy frijole, I didn't even notice the "run stop" pose....sweet!

@Snasbisch thank you

@Boom Shaka thanks for your comment, i have tweaked the frame so the eye doesn't look odd and made the swipe less solid and uploaded the new sheet(old one is still there too.) im glad you like it, if there are any other animations you think would be good to add, like the climbing etc, let me know and when i do other animations i can add those also. thanks again! :)

Melee attack looks much better imho -- maybe others will like the first one, but the new one "feels" more like blurred movement/motion than the other.

I think you've got all the states pretty well covered -- can even use the last frame of the jump state for ropes/swinging.

 @Boom Shaka, I kept both on here, like you say some may prefer the other, when you say blurred image, do you mean the Sprite sheet or the gif image? It's a terrible gif image, I will update it with another one.

thanks matey.

I'm just referring to the illusion of movement -- a club swung at a decent speed should look blurry as it passes in front of our eyes.  I think the second version captures that effect better than the first.

I wouldn't worry too much about posting new .gifs....we all know they're just previews.  I looked at them in an animator at 32x32 and they look great.
