Predator pigheaded, it is very accomplished.
Just FYI, the license prohibitions on your license page are unenforcable. No one will be required to follow them if you upload this here under CC-By. Also, that Predator character is dangerously close to infringing on 20th Centry Fox's intellectual property.
The general consensus is that you should not link to licensing restrictions that are incompatible with the license you've specified. Would you be willing to revise the prohibitions or change the copyright/attribution link? I have to mark this as having a licensing issue for now.
I sent an email to the site but couldn't get OGA to add it at the time.
Said something like that you can't add license restrictions to CC-By. You can't see nobody else is allowed to distribute it when the license explictly allows people too. You could change it by making the required attribtution if you do use it link to the site. That kind of does both things, and seems to fit the license better.
No idea if they check that email, but it went out long enough that not responding there, and I think saying something like "considering it" on another thread here (considering??? you follow the license or don't and stop trying to do both) and now doing the same thing is willfully ignoring the problem.
Easy fix. The artist seems to be shooting his own foot to ignore free advice.
...what?
Sorry, dannorder. I'm having some trouble following you. Does the site itself have an email? If so, I don't recieve any copies of the emails as a moderator. I check my private messages pretty regularly, and I recieve emails from the user contact form so those are usually pretty good methods of getting a mod's (my) attention. :)
I'm not sure if you're quoting "considering it" from the artist or another moderator, but I agree the license should be followed without modification, which is why I had to mark these submissions as having licensing issues until it is resolved. Craftpix.net contacted me privately to ask some questions about the license. I believe the misunderstanding was resolved and they decided to alter the licensing page soon.
Easy fix indeed. It was a misunderstanding of the nature of CC-By. I'm always available to answer questions people may have :)
The site you go to for their license as they see it has an email I've received no response when I emailed that. They said on another thread here that they were considering it, or something like that.
Ah! Ok. Now I'm with you. Cool. Well, the license page hasn't changed yet so niether has the licensing issue status. I'll try to keep an eye on it for updates. :)
It has been nearly a year since the licensing issue was brought up. The license in the Copyright/Attribution Notice section has not been updated to avoid conflicts with CC-BY. Unless new information can be provided, I will be unpublishing this asset soon.Thank you!
