This is some top-tier chiptune work.
Those gimmicks definitely pay off, as far as "not feeling repetitive" and "heightening excitement" go.
I'm listening to this on repeat. It really is good.
My fear is that I will not be able to make a game that is good enough for this song, but then...With this in it, it will surely help create those emotions I would want in my players.
