Very nice banner :)
I had already made a proposition of banner (see here), but I am OK with keeping yours.
Mine can be used for next year. I don't mind, as I like yours very much.
I love your version Xom its very nice! We should use that one next year for sure!
Cute! Is there a spring jam thread somewhere?
Thanks Spring! I updated the description with a link to the forum thread.
Thanks :3 well I already feel too busy with something else to participate ^^; maybe some others willl step up to the challenge though, even though it seems like those are getting fewer now. But good luck to the ones who do!
@Spring: I totally feel you on the "too busy" front, but I hear this one may be specifically designed to account for "too busy" problems. Thus the Special Edition(?)
I'm not sure how the rules really make much sense actually. If you have to finish an old project, you would obviously have begun coding before the 31st.
Yet you are not allowed to begin coding before that date, how is that meant to be interpreted? How old does a project have to be to be considered old enough to not be a violation of that rule, e.g., how long does the break between abandoning the "old project" and taking it up again have to be?
Otherwise I could just enter with what I am working on currently, which seems very unfair :O
@Spring Ultimately participants are challenging themselves. A true winner will abide by the rules and STILL come out on top. If someone wants to cheat, that participant shall inadvertantly relinquish the ownership of their mortal soul...
If you make a game from scratch you potentially have a better chance at more ratings in the "how much has the game improved category" An old project may only seem tweaked/polished/extended, but a newer game could only have mechanics with basic art after a month but then be transformed in the second month with final graphics and music etc. Which would get a higher rating.
At the end of the day I want to see finished games that make good use of OGA. You will only get repremanded if the cheating is obvious.
But how do you define "obvious cheating" ?
Games without a milestone build to compare to the jam entry will come under scrutiny. So if it is a polished game that was clearly finished ages ago. That obviously doesnt qualify. I doubt thats going to happen with people who use OGA assets.
I see, well as far as I doubt thats going to happen with people who use OGA assets I'm not so sure, but it makes sense :3
