Failure to comment and or create new topics

Hi for some reason I cannot create new topics. When I click save it keeps failing and display error 500. Sometimes I can post like this topic but most of the time I get hit by this error. I triedto copy paste my text but it kept failing.
Any idea what is wrong (tried on firefox and chrome). I can comment but it seems if I write too much text it will just trigger the failure.
The site has a hard time with certain special characters like curved quotes and em dashes. A hyphen is what your keyboard shows, but some word processors like to change hyphens to em dashes without telling you. When you copy-paste text from such word processors, you introduce a character that makes the site barf white all over the screen.
