A few years back I was comissioned to make some overworld rpg enemies. Alas, due to shenanigans I didn't get paid, and ended up posting them here http://opengameart.org/content/a-load-of-overworld-34-rpg-sprites . I have recently gone back and made some updates, resizing to be more compatible with 16x16 tiles (and specifically CharlesGabriel's 16x24 outfits), reduced the color count and generally made them look better. My goal was to make these more compatible with our other assets and thus generally more useful.

Niceeeeee .... I totally dig this set it kinda reminds me of Gargoyle's Quest II - The Demon Darkness for the NES
Nice artwork !!
Thank you very much Redshrike. I added the "golem" sprite to Stendhal. We are having to replace many of our sprites & this one is perfect. I had to do some scaling to make it match Stendhal's standard: https://github.com/arianne/stendhal/blob/master/data/sprites/monsters/go...
Using the skeleton in Stendhal as well. Thanks again Redshrike. :)
Estan chulisimos, gracias Redshrikees lo que buscaba para mi proyecto

Thanks for sharing these, Stephen!
I added the goblin, skeleton, and mushroom enemies to "Desktop Journey," an informational dashboard for iPhone, which shows the time, your current and upcoming reminders -- and a hero, who periodically encounters an enemy, which can be defeated by doing a prompted real-world task, like standing up and stretching, or doing a few reps of an exercise!
See the goblin enemy "in action" here:

Some years later I come here to steal the skull. I like that skull. I'll steal it and try some edits to see what happens. I have no idea if you still being active here as this post is from 2011 xD
Edit: I've done a bit of editing and posted it here: https://opengameart.org/content/some-skull-ive-stolen-from-a-random-guy-...
The skull is nice as a base to work with it, I should spend more time, but for now I just want something moving.
Thank you!
Hi there.
I used your nice graphics (slimes and golem) in my Android game "Vertical Invaders" with 10k+ downloads, where they fit perfectly. I credit you in the main menu of the game itself as "Stephen Challener (Redshrike) (OGA) the enemy sets." - *OGA = Open game art
