We're being hit by a lot of spam these days.

Although I think it's a good thing that people who don't want to register at OGA can leave comments anonymously, I think we need stricter rules for these. Maybe something like anonymous comments only showing up after being looked at by a trusted OGA user ...

I've got some ideas for how to deal with it that I'm working on.

In my opinion AKISMET does a great job. There is a drupal plugin for it at >> http://drupal.org/project/antispam   ...or are you already using it?

WTactics.org - devs & artists wanted.

I think anonomous posts should not even be allowed in the resource request forum. honestly why should I take the time to create art for someone who wont even take the time to register. They can do at least that much on their end if they have a serious project.

hmm, I'm new to the site, but I agree with some of the things above. Most sites don't allow people to post if they haven't registered to keep useless messages out. I see Acorns point too, but I've got mixed feelings on his theory.

I personally don't allow guests posting in any forum I create though, it saves hassle, but at the same time I think it might help, by enabling guests to post...in a way that it lets them test their feet in the water. They may be more apt to register later..

Maybe limit them to certain areas? A special guest forum for guest to chat about weather or not they should join, say what ever, and ask users questions, lol.
