Demakes

I went to the BostonFIG talks. The talks I went to were very interesting. One was on retrogames and mentioned the demake jam. Demaking is taking a game and remaking it in the style of an earlier system. I like the idea but I can't think of any games I'd like to demake. I've been playing 7 days to die but I don't know of a satisfactory to demake that game. I was think maybe Marvel: Ultimate Alliance. I probably won't try doing it at the moment as I don't have time.
Anybody have a game they want to demake?
I guess i do, but not seriously though x'D
Command and conquer generals for the famicom. Mostly an excuse for me to remake the music as chiptune :3
Final Fantasy 7, or Metal Gear Solid with Megadrive graphics? :-)
Great jam, I will try some of the games.
Excellent. I have played 10 of these games from the demake jam.
My favorite are : Bio Evil 4, Pixel Eye, and Phantom Limbs.
I hope there will be other demake jams.
I also find demakes a fascinating topic. On the one hand, it's just plain fun to imagine what all these games might have looked like if they'd have come out years ago. On the other, perhaps the even more interesting question is 'what can you add by de-making a game?' If you are taking away all those layers of technology what can you put back to actually improve upon the game?

I definately agree that an interesting aspect to me is what can improve the game by de-making it. If only I had more time in the day.
