I was thinking of using a pixel style instead actually.

what do you lke best, ohgully1.png or ohgully2.png?
I like the sharp beak, mean eyes and wrinkly feet on gully2 but over all I like gully better.
The strong black lines in gully1 make everything stand out more.
gully2 is kinda mushy. especially the eyes, which look great but don't stand out enough to make an impact.
oh, wings and animation are better on gully2 also.

I generally don't like how tings with black outlines look when scaled down, which is why I tried a style without them.
I can always try to improve the eyes on gully2.

Will you be scaling the sprites during the game?
If not, why not just make them in the resolution/size you need from the start?

Well, I don't know what the screen resolution in OH GULLY is going to be yet.
gotcha. I should add that I think you're right, thin lines don't scale very well.
nah, usually not, it's better to draw at the resolution you actually need, like you said.
