Please use comma separated tags when submitting
I'd like to bring this up because recently I've noticed that sometimes even high quality and polished art on OGA lacks one litte detail:
A list of tags.
So what are tags?
Tags are buzz- or keywords used to index (like in a book's index) and *find* (like in google) your art. Google once even made a game out of this: One image was presented to two unrelated persons over the internet and both had to guess each other's tags. Points where given for matching keywords. And of course this helps when searching for images.
So how can you make your art stand out on the OGA content search?
Think of single keywords others would or could use to describe or search for your art. Then while submitting look for the input field that reads: "Enter a comma separated list of tags." and do what it asks for: Enter a list of tags.
If you enter "This is a big bad tag" then you will have only one blob-tag not very useful for searching. It's better to give a list of atomic keywords like "big,bad,tag" this can be found when searching either for "big,bad" or "big,tag" or "bad,tag".
On OGA there are even suggestions for already used tags. Please, take your time and think of good tags for your art.
So you can make your good art even better by describing it in keywords to help others find your art.

Tags are good and all, but imo we also need "Categories".
I know we have categroies like 3d,2d,texture etc. but one more layer of categories could be really usefull.
Characters,Vehicles,Props,Architecture... etc for 3d
Ui,Portraits,Sprites, Tilesets... etc for 3d
Ui, Ambient, Voice... etc for sounds
Concrete,leather,metal,nature,Texture maps for textures
@quadraxas: this will probably be covered by what is my most-anticipated OGA 2.0 feature: art collections. This will allow for much better sorting.
Tags are a great idea and necessary to make searching possible, but I'd also add a word of caution about tag creep - try searching for 'sprite', for example, and you'll get tons of portrait art and tilesets. It's the same principle as Youtube users tagging everything with 'boobs' and 'DBZ', to get as many hits as possible. Sure, it helps get your work out there to the widest audience, but it also makes the search function itself unwieldy and hard to use; concise and accurate tagging will help to reduce search clutter and make it easier overall for interested parties to find assets which suit their needs.
(The 'sprite' search might not be the best example - I'm aware that some people tend to use 'sprite' and 'pixel art' interchangeably.)

.@MoikMellah Valid point, boosting search happens everywhere. There are already tags on OGA and they aren't always used as they could be. I guess there could be someone (official) looking over commits and tags anyway, maybe strike out misplaced tags and add missing ones (or ask/tell the submitter).
