tips for working with rocks?
i'm working on these elements for a game i'm working on (because i couldnt find others that worked in the UI! maybe i can submit as missing link...) and i can't draw the dang rocks. i think the other elements look good enough, but the rocks look like crap. ;p
could one of you pixel wizards offer some tips on pixel rocks?
i can, like, paint rocks, but i'm having a hard time making an exciting rock scene and also picking the right colors for it.

I think all of these look good, including the rocks ^^ they would definitely have sufficed for me.

Those are pretty good symbolic rocks IMO. Even without context my impression of the symbols are:
The earth logo hints at rocks and dirt as well as being mountain-shaped. I can't imagine a better symbol for an Earth element.

EDIT: working with like 12 pixels is pretty frustrating. i got some respect for the pixelers here
