I'm not seeing the FLAC file at the link you provided. Also, why not just have the FLAC available here, too?
Sorry, I use a general link to my profile, which contains various tracks (all the ones on OGA). This particular track is here.
The reason I don't post FLACs is because of their size (nearly 50MB for this, as opposed to 5.5MB for the ogg). I'd like to keep OGA's hosting costs down where possible.
That's very considerate, but as an administrator and contributor to part of those hosting costs, I can assure you the highly-editable FLAC files are well worth the additional file size (pretty insignificant in the grand scheme of things.)
I'm sure people would appreciate having both the ogg and the flac available here. The link you provided still doesn't appear to be a FLAC file.
OK, thanks for the info. That's good to know. I've added FLACs for the three tracks I've just released and will upload both formats for future tracks.
The link I sent works fine this end, but perhaps the site's a bit confusing? It's a moot point now, but you need to click the "Free Download" text a couple of lines below the Play icon (if it's not there, perhaps it's a browser extension issue or something), then choose your format by clicking the down-arrow next to "MP3 V0" and click "Download".
Excellent! thank you.
As you said, it's a moot point, but I think my confusion was stemming from the link going to an .mp3 download, not a .FLAC download. Thanks again for the share!
