Noname mod
I have just updated my old frare engine from 0.18 using the git install on Arch. The installer claims it installed 0.20 though the title page gives v1.0, I am now trying to get the noname mod to work.
I assumed the version I had would be incompatible and saw an updated version, "to work with new engine" that was updated last month so used that one. Installing it in ~/lacal/share/flare/mods did not work as it used to, so as root I put it in /usr and got it working again.
Today I tried to move it to my home folder again, mainly for convieniece when I get onto editing it but also as it is the correct way for users to add things. There seems to be no way to get it running there, if I take the new game mod out of the noname mod and add it as a seperate mod then that one works, I can get started with a new avatar in the middle of a story, and I get 15000 XP and dozens of points to spend on character development and powers.
So the game can read my mods folder as it runs new game from there, it can run noname from /usr but it will not accept noname in my local mods folder, has anyone any suggestions?
Can I take it you looking with linux?
If so, try making a sym link to start with (try an absolute type as sometimes one works while the other doesn't) and if that works your problem is most likely permissions or user/group settings.
EDITED: found a mention in another post that only absolute links work, relative ones usually fail.
