Looking for artist to work with for game project
Hi, my name's Hannah, and I'm a student at the City of Glasgow College. I am looking to work with an artist for the game I'm developing for my Graded Unit class. This game is being made in Twine, an open-source game development software, and will be published for free on itch.io when it is completed, which should hopefully be done before my final deadline at the end of March.
My game is a fantasy choose-your-own-adventure game that is purely text-based. The art I require for the game is simplistic; I will only need landscape art with a limited colour palette, possibly in 8-bit format, of 730px by 480px width & height. I'm looking for art similar to this and this. The landscape art will be placed with relevant scenes as the player makes their choices and reads through the story, allowing the game to have visual appeal but few enough details for their imagination to go wild.
The game follows the hero as they explore a strange world and get quests to complete from the ruler of the world, a big spider lady dubbed the Spider Queen. The quests revolve around Celtic mythology. The game is not yet finished; I have only written up until the quests are given. The game follows the typical Hero's Journey formula. A test of my game can be found here.
Anyway, this post feels a bit messy, so I'm going to stop here. I will compensate you for the work I'm asking you to do, but it might not be a lot as I am an unemployed student.
You can contact me here or email me at inbetweenindie@gmail.com if you're interested in working with me! Thanks for taking the time to read this.
Well, I'm not an artist, but here are some assets that sort of match the style you've indicated. Might give you and any artists who join you a head start: http://opengameart.org/content/minimalist-pixelart-backgrounds

I probably shouldn't have been as amused as I was at this...
Stay a while and listen.
