Lips of Suna is looking for 2D compass graphics
Hi all,
I'm working on http://lipsofsuna.org and recently redid its UI using http://opengameart.org/content/moderna-graphical-interface with some customizations. See the screenshot at the end of the post.
However, the compass in the lower left corner still doesn't have proper graphics. The Moderna set doesn't have a compass, nor is there one to be found elsewhere in OGA. I could try to make one myself but since I lurk here frequently, I thought I could give it a try and request one.
The background of the compass should be a 74x74 pixel unobstructed circle and it should have a steampunkish look to it. Something a little worn or rusty perhaps but still somewhat advanced looking. The compass rotates with the player so any text should be oriented so that it's upside up when the compass points to that direction. North should point upwards in the image.
Additionally, a quest indicator would be nice. The indicator, currently a green ellipse, rotates independently of the rest of the compass, pointing to the direction of the active quest. It could be a small arrowhead or a something similar to a pointer of
a clock, whichever you think fits the style.
Extra decorations, such as a transparent glass perhaps, that don't rotate with the rest of the compass can be used as well. Also, if you think some of the bits of the current HUD of the game are obstructing the compass too much, draw the compass as if they weren't there and I'll fix the HUD.
The license should be one of CC0, CC-BY or CC-BY-SA.
Hi, good woork with the remake of the g.u.i, i like too much what you did with the spellbar, very inteligent and good looking solution.
I'm glad that that was helpfull to this project.
If you need something, in that i could help, just shoot. =)
And good luck with the project.
Jorge.
I forgot, just a tip, The tooltip box seems too "big" for me.
Check this is another type of solution.
Ithink that one is taken from sumwars :)
yes, shirish, thanks for the note, i'm the designer =).
This is a "type" of solution for the tooltip.
And yeah, i recommend to visit the forums of sumwars, because we are doing a rpg too, and, basically, in the gameplay, the interface will do the same things.
Cheers.
