This is a really good edit. I love the sword. Though I think maybe you should move the sword on the attack animation up a little. Just so the sheeth isn't under the ground at the start.
Thanks! Your comment is correct - originally the idle animation had the sword go below the bottoms of his feet. After I put it in my game though, it drove me nuts. I changed the sword position in idle, but never updated the attack demo gif.
There is still a single frame in the attack where the sword is lower than the feet, but just barely, and it doesn't look bad in practice - but that's just my opinion.

@peteris You may. On the left panel of the page you can see that I released this sprite under the CC0 license, which is effectively public domain. That means you may use it in any way, including commercially. Furthermore you are not required to mention me in your credits, though it is always appreciated to get a link to my OGA page somewhere in your project. And I'd love to see how you use it, so as your game progresses it would be super cool to see screenshots here!
