Announcing Project DretchStorm

My friend ghostshell from GameBoom asked me to pass this along:

Project DretchStorm is an FPS based on the Tremulous universe. The goal is to build on the gameplay of Tremulous version 1.1(ish) and extend its features and introduce new tech. A partial list of wish-list items include:

- new renderer based on xreal
- all FOSS-compatible assets
- assets that exploit xreal's capabilities
- ambiance music
- XP-based class system with research and achievements
- with a focus on high performance and presentation

At this time we are looking for anyone willing to help in all areas; 3d models + animation, textures, mapping, sound/music, ux and writting. The code will be GPL.

If you need ambiance music you can just ask me. I must of did about 5 different songs for Tremulous that I dont believe they are even using. Here is one http://opengameart.org/content/tragic-ambient-main-menu

 

 

I also wouldnt mind doing sounds for you guys. I did about 70 sounds for the tremulous community, I think they are using about 50 of them but I feel the developers are always hiatus and I didnt get any info into what was really needed. So if you need anything just let me know.

@brandon - thanks for offering your help. we have nobody working on sound atm, if you would like to contribute with that part it would be great. this is a sunday project for most of us, goal-driven, in bite-size chunks. if you want to talk about using your sound assets, join #gameboom in freenode. thanks.

@qubodup - the group is not private, you should be able to join. we'll be pushing updates through gameboom.net and boomz.me, there will be plenty of feeds to follow. thx
