Dang! I'm really sorry man, I promise I didn't mean to offend you or drive you away. I have moderator abilities but I only approve accounts and delete spam and double posts--I don't represent the site or the community. When it comes to those things, I really am "just some guy" with an opinion. If you disagree with me that's perfectly fine around here, and you're in good company too.
By the way, I was not intending to denigrate copyleft or other more restrictive licenses--while I don't tend to use them myself it's more rooted in license practicalities than any opposition to the philosophy. I wouldn't be here if I didn't like free software. And if you stick around, you'll find that there is a large group of people here who exclusively work with CC-By-SA or other copyleft licenses. You will also find that we like to talk about licensing and its implications from time to time--we're here in part because we are interested in that stuff. Not everyone is going to agree, but people here are also generally interested in hearing different perspectives.
Anyway, again I am sorry about that. I didn't mean for your introduction to the community to be an argument about licensing, and I should have been more considerate of that.
I told him that he could post it under any license he wanted and you comment was a friendly reminder for the benefit of everyone. He decided to leave anyway which he is also free to do even if it is overreacting.
If anyone else wants their account removed... well, please reconsider. We like you. :D But if you still want your account removed, feel free to PM me any time. :)
P.S. Trying to manually remove your submissions and comments won't work. Please let me know before screwing up the context of existing conversations.
