Hello. I will be keeping this as short as possible as the campaign says it all. Help create a giant public domain release of 2D game art.

Thanks for posting this, Aron. However, I and I think many other people on here will not be interested because the art will still be all rights reserved - that is, it will be under regular copyright. There's already lots of stock art that I can license that is like that.

What is very cool is some crowdfunded projects that have made the resulting art Creative Commons Attribution licensed.

I can't find any details on the specifics of the license on the campaign page. The thread title here says "public domain." That has a very specific meaning. Perhaps this can be clarified since there is some confusion.

To be honest my main concern is that for a project all about art there's very little there to see. There's no video, and posting one graphic a day to the gallery page means people have to wait until the pledge period is nearly over to even see what they would be getting. There's not even a link to an artist portfolio website or anything. If you want to get crowdfunding you need to think things through better than that.

Thank you for the input. I have clarified on the Campaign page that the art will be released under the public domain once any and all perks have been fullfilled. Durring last rewritings, knowing that it would be released as CCO myself, i didn't realize the text didn't clarify that. Just said "public".

About the video/graphics. The Idea was to reveal more and more of it as the campaign went on. Art that I created myself already, and art that came from perks. Seeing as I am only asking for $1000, a month feels like enough time to put a dent in that. However today/tommorow i will upload images that contain all of the art that is done so far. And I will create a simple video of the base character running through some possible enviornments, perhaps with some music from OGA. That will be a pain with my slow computer, but ill make it work.

Does all of this sound good? I was trying to do things a little differently but i can see how that may not work. Ill make sure to post back here when the update is made.

PS: I dont have a portfolio website. I draw and paint as a hobby so having a portfolio never really crossed my mind. Ill have to consider that though none of that art would have anything to do with the game art. This is the first game art style I have set in stone and worked on refining for release. Everything else I do is sketchy, messy fun for me. Still, Ill consider it over the next few day or so.
