General Discussion

Can I put advert on my game if I am using CC by 3.0 material?

Hi Guy,

Does anyone know if I am using Creative Common Graphics By 3.0 (http://creativecommons.org/licenses/by/3.0/) material in my game, can I still add advertisement into my game?

I know I can't really sell it then, but how about ads?

Many thanks in advance.

CC-BY prevents you neither selling nor ad-supporting.

So it means I can do both then ? how about credit? I should give the author credit in my app right?

Yes. The requirement to give credit is right there in the license name: "Creative Commons Attribution".

I think surt's reply is worded confusingly.

You CAN use CC-BY in something that is going to be sold and/or ad supported.

Stay a while and listen.
