Playing with planets are pretty fun. I am posting whatever I did within this week. Colors and day/night cycles can easily be modified.

EDIT:

Forgot to tell, they are 1024x1024, however, at full resolution textures will seem way too sharp. Its best to use them at 50% or smaller size.

Nice even if planets textures are a bit unrealistic, i have a nice trick for that however, if you want to make huge numbers of high res realistics planets textures you should look at this software http://en.spaceengine.org/ it render full procedural planets of all kinds

@Anonymous: well I was thinking to write a similar software, procedural image/texture creation is a topic I had studied before. However, the problem with this case is its artistic representation. Realistic planets dont look fancy. But I might still go ahead and write a software that will allow to design planets easier. I wish I had more time.

BTW that software looks really nice.

Hi Cem.

Awesome planet art! I'm currently writing an app and contemplate using these planets as menu button textures. Is a credit in the game description in the App store/Play store satisfactory for this use?

Thanks!

Definitely. After you get it published, toss its link, I would love to see them in action.
