Tormentum - indie game (2D game art)
Hello!
I wanted to share some game-art I was created 1,5 years ago for an independent game called "Tormentum".
It's still in development mostly by our fellow programmer. We are small three-man team and our goal was to make 2D point and click adventure game. The action of the game is set in a dark world, veering between dreams and nightmare.
here is the trailer
Feel free to check out Tormentum's Indiegogo page where you can find all the details about the project. Also you can find us on Greenlight. Of course we would be greatful for any kind of help.
so let's begin..
first 2 animated gifs for you showing parallax effect in our game. It takes several layered planes to get that parallax effect.
now some "static" screens..
Hope you guys liked it!
In what sense did you want to share? "Watch but do not touch?" or you allow re-use of your art under some open art licence? Just curious.
YD - Yes the first option. Mostly to show off our game and ask for any kind of help on Indiegogo or Greenlight. We appreciate every activity.
looks mega hot! Art is georgeous! Parallex effect is stunning!

Man, I would hate to see what your nightmares look like lol. Art looks amazing, god tier level work right there. The drawings, coloring, shading and even animation all look amazing, everything absolutely looks awesome.
Today our game has been greenlit !!! After 23 days! Tnx for support!
We still have to finish our indiegogo campaign. If you like our game and want to help pleaseee share link to Tormentum campaign: http://igg.me/at/Tormentum/x/7378278

Yes! It looks even better in motion!

BTW the puzzles looks good too and the writing was really fun.
I like that for all the macabre imagery the writing had a sense of humor.
Is it ok that I laughed at 'A skeleton arm, this looks like it might be useful.'?
Not sure if it was intentional or not but that one's a classic in my book. Perfect adventure game writing :)

capbros thanks! Well unfortunatelly that was not intentional.. This english writing is only temporal. The final version of translation by professional translator will be implemented after the game will be finished. So thx for a hint. We will keep that in mind :)
oh no! Well for the record, I wasn't complaining, I thought it was a pretty funny riff on the classic adventure game mechanic of picking up strange objects and finding a use for them.
Now the line about 'At least I hope he died in his sleep.' that was supposed to be funny right?
https://withthelove.itch.io/
capbros - I don't know if the line 'At least I hope he died in his sleep' is funny. In my opinion he just comments maybe a little ironically what he's sees but not in comical way. Like every human being in stressful situations we try to relieve tension by a little humorous thinking but it's not something totally super funny. I was trying to figure out what I would do in such strange/abstract situation and this is probably similar to this.
that sounds about right. The line got more of a smirk than a laugh from me. I'd say it hits the note you are going for. I don't think it was so funny it spoiled to dark mood set by the art, but then that artwork is so good it'd take a lot to over power it. :)

I'm glad to hear that. Cheers!
