Hi,

Ok so basically I am looking for the effect that appears on enemies after they have been sucessfully hit.

Some examples would be:

http://megagames.com/sites/default/files/game-content-images/MapleStory0...

   - The red star that appears on the blob indicating that it has been hit

http://mmohuts.com/wp-content/gallery/maplestory-legends1/maple_story_ca...

   - At the top

http://ouyagamereviews.files.wordpress.com/2013/05/ff3-desert.jpg

   - That

http://4.bp.blogspot.com/_KNZH403imb4/S8xnuxpOpHI/AAAAAAAAAbc/dF2DSWUxFY...

   - Sword slash

Does this have a specific term or name? And does anyone know if anything like this exists on this website. Thanks

Hi xier,

I would go for "effects" or "FX", but not sure if there is a more official term for it.

Going to the collections and used browser search for "eff" and "fx" gave me:

http://opengameart.org/content/platformer-sidescroller-items-effects-misc

http://opengameart.org/content/isometric-items-effects-misc

http://opengameart.org/content/2d-effects

Hope there is something useful for you.

I have no idea if there is an official term. In my projects I used the term "overlays" for such, and I think in at least one professional game project it's been called "decals".
