Says I have more downloads than I actually do?

Forgive me if this is a regular problem, as I just joined the site. But I uploaded some art and it instantly said i had 600+ downloads. I think this may be because the site checks how many downloads there are for a file by the files name (i.e. multiple files might be called hero.png etc.) and not the actual download for each individual file. I thought I would just make you guys aware
It is a known bug, It will fix itself after a few hours to the actual count.
We get this one a lot. Unfortunately, fixing it will necessitate rewriting the download counting code from scratch. Until a couple of days ago, I was using a contributed Drupal module that had this bug, and also wasn't particularly optimized for large sites. Since it was too much of a performance hit, I've turned it off for now.
