They kinda stole this sites name, but it looks not too bad anyways.

Yeah, I can't say I'm too keen on any of the content other than Kenney's stuff (most of which I imagine is already here) but I like the concept of it, so it's worth supporting.

I donated to this (note OpenGameArt.org on the donors list).

The title is a bit confusing, and while I compeltely support their efforts, I hope people understand that OpenGameArt.org isn't directly involved.  (Also, if I ever want to host a bundle campaign here, what do I call it?)

That being said, I have to congratulate them on an exemplary campaign for funding CC-licensed art work.  Might be a good example of a business model OGA can use.  (That is, feature some set of art, let people pay what they want, and pick their own split between the artist, charity, and a tip for OGA.)

hehe

Mostly it illustrates a potential confusion.  My answer would be "The OpenGameArt.org Bundle", but to me that's uncomfortably similar.

Regardless, no biggie.  It's not in the immediate plans anyway. :)

I don't think we can complain about the name, when it's being used in the generic sense to refer to open game art. I mean, it might be one thing if they'd called their site "OpenGameArt" (though even then, it would probably be coincidence due to the genericness of the term, rather than intentional), but this is just used to describe an open game art bundle - what else do they call it? Can no one else really use the words "open game art"?

"I hope people understand that OpenGameArt.org isn't directly involved. (Also, if I ever want to host a bundle campaign here, what do I call it?)"

I don't think that's a problem - I don't think people are going to assume they must be done by the same people. But this does demonstrate the problem - if they shouldn't be using the term "open game art", should OGA not ever be able to use the word "bundle", because they used it?

If one wants names to be unique, I think that requires starting with less generic terms. The reason the names are the same is because they're describing the same thing - it's like saying that two different fruit and vegetable stores are both fruit and vegetable stores.

I think OpenGameArt.org Bundle would be fine, as that clearly refers to the website.

I didn't have any influence on the name but I only refer to it as 'The Open Bundle', which I think is more catchy and accurate. I'm sure there were no bad intentions involved regarding the name.

For the bundle I did a deluxe version of my platformer graphics. While the pack here only features about 60 sprites, the deluxe version offers about 370.

That being said, I can't wait for it to reach the goal and upload my pack here under CC0 license! :D
