The legs look a bit odd to me, but other than that, I like your design. The shading reminds me a bit of Cave Story for some reason.

Thanks for your input!

 

I absolutely love the super brothers' animation (see here) because of their characters' scrawny little legs.  Their art was definitely some inspiration for this little robot.  However, I agree that I could have done the legs a little better on this robot...any ideas for improving the legs to look better with the upper body?

Actually, comparing the art of this with the pic, I'd say you did the legs really nicely. However, I guess you could try messing with the length and see what happens.
