Masters of Slingo (3 Day Project)
This is a little game I made in about 3 days requested originally by my wife. The original idea was to clone a popular game called Slingo that’s fairly popular on Facebook. About half way through the project, I decided to change the games concept slightly to allow a better game play. This is pretty much the result. I’m still waiting on our artist to produce the background and touch up the icons etc. for the software but I think its looks pretty nice in its current form. Below is a video of the alpha version for the game and since then we have added a few extra options and bug fixes but the concept still remains the same.
Anyway, most of the art was found here and the music was from freesounds.org. So big thanks to those who posted the free art. Of course your names are in the credits of course. I don’t look for this software to make any record sales but I figured I’d share it with everyone and demonstrate what you can do in a very short period of time in Visual Basic .Net
Video Demo:
Why not shoot for record sales? Just tweak the branding, and make it Disney-themed in addition to being named Slingo - they're really popular these days.
Can't wait to see what your artist comes up with. Don't forget, though, that you need to include full attribution info for the portraits you used from OpenGameArt.org - having CharlesGabriel merely listed in the credits isn't sufficient. Proper attribution should include at minimum:
- The name of the original work you're using
- The name of the artist/author
- The license the work is released under (as required by CC-By-3.0)
- Any other attribution the artist requires
An 'Art By' credit doesn't adhere to this guideline, since it's impossible to tell which art was produced by which artist. You'd be best off including a text file along with the distribution, detailing your assets' licensing and source.
(Disclaimer: I'm not CharlesGabriel, and have no rights whatsoever to his work. As I'm not the copyright holder, I can't tell you what to do/not do with these assets - this is advice only.)
My project: Bits & Bots
That typically goes into a legal document called Read me or its displayed during the install process. You know that stuff no one reads. asfor Disney lol your insane. Call Disney and let me know what they say or what % of sales they want to just put their name on the box not including % after you slap on a few copy righted images lol Anyway, this game is mostly just for show. It was made for my wife and a few friends. If i sell anything it would be the source code on how to make the game its self and the art would fall under a seperate lic.
