Gathering a team

dpx
Saturday, November 18, 2023 - 04:28

Dear All,

I am in a process of gathering the team of professionals with different skills, with the idea of publishing multiple games for iOS and Android.

About me: 50+ years old, with 30+ years of programming carrier. I know and use more different programming languages that I can remember.Some 15 years ago, since the beginning of iOS App Store, I created tens of published video games, as a hired help. I am passionate about video games since 80's and arcade times, then went trough ZX Spectrum, PC and onwards.

Plan: 1) gather the team; 2) publish one or more free/ad supported titles; 3) repeat #2.

What I am looking for: Pixel/art/designer/music/level editing professionals, that can work together and influence development of the game. Preferably people with passion for games and knowledge of the history (some great ideas back there: Frogger, Phoenix, Donkey Kong and tens of other oldies). Each member of the team can and should contribute ideas, for the current and future games.

Game graphics/music style: I am very open to ideas, as I am aware that both old style and new style art can be beautiful. I do like consistency so all the bits fit together well. I see some beautiful works on this site so I am sure we can create magic together. My games usually cover all of the screen and resize content to some extent to make it look good on different sizes and resolutions.

Money: I can pay for any work so don't hesitate to send offers. However, I believe that people can be even more motivated if they are part of the team and share income in perpetuity. As we all know any game can flop or be a hit so sharing risk can be more beneficial at theend. Money? Royalties? All up to you.

List of skills needed, one or more people can join on any skill or cover few tasks alone:

* Art/design
* Music
* Level editor
* Project coordinator (optional)

This last item is something I am considering, because English is not my primary language and while being all fluffy/well intended I sometimes lack in people skills. Maybe you can coordinate the team?

Current project: Frozen Bubble / Puzzle Bobble remake, with shooting the marble by swiping across the screen. All most important math isdone, levels play well, lacking graphics, music/effects, and levels. Current screenshot is using Frozen Bubble graphics and levels, so we can't publish without remaking everything.

Join me on this one so we can click together and make more of the fun stuff.

Hi,

I'm working on a serious game in gdevelop and can provide the nursing / healthcare content. I really need someone who can create a great-looking gui.

About me: I am a registered nurse and I write a little JavaScript and do mostly brower automation as a side gig. Currently, I work as a nurse evaluator for written and clinical (Certified Nursing Assistant) CNA exams. So the serious game is related to studying for the clinical skills portion of the CNA exam. I have seen what study material is available online and what apps are available on Android. 99% is hype, really. I have access to legal, free content and have a passion to make a great clinical skills study game for CNAs.

@mrhealthpatriot: are you involved with dpx's project in some way? It looks like you're seeking talent resources, as dpx is, but if your project has nothing to do with dpx's, this should probably be posted on it's own thread.

Thank you, you are right. My post should be on it's own thread.. I am looking for resources as much as offering to help.
