Agreed. I always forget how much of an impact tiny stuff like this has on a game's feel. Now I realize I need a tiny animation of a raindrop hitting a surface, too.

Great effect, but not that great that it is a GIF though. I made the GIF into a spritesheet that I am using in my Unity game. Since this asset is CC0 this is CC0 as well. Hope you find it useful. 

EDIT: i think you can right click the image and select save as...

EDIT 2: the sprites are 10 pixels wide and 7 pixels tall
