Is it okay to just submit a spreadsheet for author credit?

I spent like 10 hours collecting all the images from the lemmasoft forums, the ones from the creative commons section. The FAQ says I need to credit the authors in the authors section, but there are way too many authors. Also, the file is massive. (It's uploaded to itch here btw)

Over 5 Jigabytes! Good Heavens!

Submit it on OGA specifically? Possibly, yes... but there are several adjustments that will need to be made first:

  1. The spreadsheet does not contain all the information required by many of the licenses.
  2. Any content licensed *-NC is not eligible to be submitted on OGA. Those assets will have to be omitted from any submission on OGA.
  3. Preferably the credits file should be a .txt file instead of .csv, since .txt files are natively accepted on submissions. If that is not acceptable, the .csv file will have to be placed in a .zip file by itself so it can be submitted.

I see, unfortunately most of the people who submitted artwork didn't fully specify their license, only that it's under a creative Commons license. I guess I'll try emailing every single one of them about it.

Yes. Unforunately that is necessary information for assets hosted on OGA.

Note also that added stipulations like "Only use in Visual Novels" and "No Adult games" actually violate most Creative Commons licenses because those may qualify as "additional restrictions". You would also need to either omit those assets from the pack as well, or get a waiver from each of those authors.

Alright. I went through all of the assets again. Two-thirds of them didn't specify license or had a noncommercial license. So that reduces the amount of stuff I can upload a lot. I'll try uploading the files separately if one upload is too big.

And the ones with additional restrictions?

None of those could be used for commercial games either so they were out.
