Hello,

Trigger Rally, a simple 3d open source ralley racing game that uses heightmaps for levels/tracks and has some art assets that have unknown/nonfree sources, which we would like to replace. At the time of writing this (2012-04-05) they are:

  • Car UV textures (ongoing in this thread, and this mailing list thread)
  • Background images (probably renders of cars, once freely licensed
  • Cactus (mailing list thread) and grass texture sprites (mailing list thread)
  • Sounds: Gravel, wind and collision

We have already successfully replaced the tiling ground texture, looping engine sound and palm tree texture sprite.

See all mailing list discussion in our archvies: http://sourceforge.net/mailarchive/forum.php?forum_name=trigger-rally-devel

We have a complete list of problematic art (market with ***): DATA_AUTHORS.txt

I would love any contributions to the cause of making Trigger free in the free software and open content sense! :) Please spread the word to artists, who you believe would enjoy contributing!

By the way, if you would like to start a sound-liberation project for an action-RPG/platformer, The Legend of Edgar's developers would be willing to support you: http://forum.freegamedev.net/viewtopic.php?f=22&p=28867#p28867
