Simple hover skiff I created in Sketchup and 3ds Max.
3ds Max claims 1768 polygons in the 3ds file. I'm entirely new to this modeling thing, so I still don't know what counts as low-poly or high-poly, and what a good polygon count is :P Hope someone finds use for it.
Sketchup file is in the zip archive.
File(s):
small_skiff.3DS 41.8 Kb [128 download(s)]
small_skiff.zip 63.3 Kb [200 download(s)]

I would upload the sketchup file for it, but OGA doesn't seem to support that as of yet.
Easily fixed. What's the file extension?
The extension for sketchup files is '.skp'. And thanks :)
Had an absent-minded moment and forgot that OGA allows zip archives -.- Sketchup file is now in the zip file.
Good model! The 1768 polys are triangles (model is triangulated), just for clarification. You made good usage of the detail, it is round where it has to be round and the structure is simple on simple surfaces.
One thing that confuses me: The download of the .3DS file gives me a .tif extension. Seems like you renamed the file to work around upload problems. It would look better if this gets fixed and interested people don't get surprised.
Thanks for pointing that out. I'll see if I can't fix that, because the .3DS file was exported directly from 3DS Max. If nothing else, I'll stick it in the zip file as well.
I optomised this model down to 916 polys, and textured it, here:
