Heyy Kenny,

I think there is problem with vector files in this .zip package.

The last player layer is half visible when opening with GIMP.

Please reply.

If I remember right that was just because of the default page size in GIMP, and if you made a bigger size or moved the graphics around they showed up just fine.

If that doesn't help I can take a look at it later. I am pretty sure I got it to work.

Hi dannorder,

I tried increasing the canvas size in GIMP still the result is same.

This is happenning in all the vector file given by Kenny.

Please let me know how to open it correctly in GIMP.

Hope to hear you soon.

Thanks & Regards,

Ajay Birla

Looks like I don't even currently have GIMP installed right now due to it conflicting with another program. Until I get that straightened out my troubleshooting will be limited.

Just curious, but does the following file work any better? I just resaved Kenney's file in Inkscape with a larger document size:

(Link will only be available for 7 days since it's a freebie transfer page. Figured no reason to upload a file here that may or may not help.)

Hi dannorder,

This file is working fine but all other vector files given by Kenny is not working as in each something is getting out of canvas.

What you did? Please let me know.

Thanks again for helping me out.

All I did was open his file up in Inkscape, increase the size of the page so it was big enough to fit all the images, and then resaved it. I think GIMP's vector import gets hung up on the specified page size.

I guess all of those files would have to be resaved to be fully compatible. I don't know if there's some way to make it change all the files at once or automate it, or if some other program could do the same thing. If no one else does it first I can save them all at the bigger size later sometime. If you'd rather not wait, Inkscape is free.

Open the image in inkscape, select the image and move the top left corner to match the top left corner of the box in the middle of the screen, save it... note: when you open in gimp you will have to adjust the image size in the file open dialog, full size is around 1600x800. Basically the vector is not positioned 0,0 in the svg, once you move it and save it all will be well :D

@omar20101021: This isn't really the kind of thing Kenney has time to respond to. However, it also isn't that difficult to determine it yourself:

  1. Open GIMP application
  2. Open grassBlock.png in GIMP.
  3. Select the Color Picker Tool ("eye dropper") [hotkey: O]
  4. Click one of the grass pixels.
  5. Click the foreground color box to show color details:
  • Color code: #80be1f
  • RGB: (128, 190, 31)
  • Saturation: 83.7
  • Hue ("color amount"?): 83.4
  • Value ("brightness level"?): 74.5
