Hey guys I have an undersea horror game I am working on, and inside the submersible you have a terminal you will be looking at a most the game, so I wanted it to look decent but It drew it and it looks like crap. Can anyone redraw it or give me pointers on what needs to be fixed? Keep in mind im a programmer not an artists so the pointers should be pretty simple if you give them because i suck lol. Thanks a bunch.

Are you sure? I feel like the frame just looks... so 2d and boring. Idk maybe it's me. ty though
To me it does look good -- great even. But if you'd like to improve it here are some ideas:
For a more 3-d ish feel, you could try adding shading from where you think the light is going to shine on it (lighting the areas where the ambient light will reflect a little off of it and darkening the areas where it will not.) Just don't add too much brightness to it because you don't want it to detract from the look/feel.
I found an excellent tutorial about shading here, if you'd like a look. https://www.dummies.com/art-center/performing-arts/drawing/drawing-light...
As far as textures, if the submersable is abandoned you could add some dust to it; maybe a cobweb in one of the corners or a slight crack in the monitor itself. Other than that, due to the nature of monitors being smooth, I think it looks fine texture wise.
I hope this helps you a little.
Alrighty then. Thank you guys for your feedback. and thanks for the article i will look at it and try to add some shading to the panels.
That's all it needs really. In any case, good luck! I'd love to see your edits to it when you're done. <3
it looks excellent to me. when I write music I think all my pieces are bad but then they wind up on youtube with 60,000 views. Other peoples opinions matter more than your own because you are your worse enemy.

looks fine but depends on the overall style. it might look good on its own, but in-context it might look like s***. perhaps provide some context for more accurate tips?
I second MNDV.ecb - it's hard to know if it actually looks bad when we don't know what you wanted to achieve with it. There's nothing blatantly horrible about it as far as I can see.
