This is a enemy that I bought for a personal project but the artist didn't finish it. If someone wants to use and creates an animation, please share with us.

Although you 'bought' this, Do you have the rights to the artwork and share? Especially public domain, the reason I ask as I might do something based on this, but when you buy assets its doesn't mean you have the rights to it, I just want to be sure. Thanks :)

Hi Chasersgaming,

My assets was made by another person who signed a contract which gives me all rights for commercial or sharing. Also it's included that he can't use any assets made for my project to re-sell.

So that artist was eager enough to sign a physical contract, but too lazy to finish a sprite?

Anyway, by US law you don't need to sign an explicit contract with every freelancer, because if you paid him/her for art then you own it [wrong], especially if you kept the emails and receipts. In America there are also notions of contract by conduct and implicit agreement. In Russia you indeed need to make a formal written agreement, on paper, because email or electronic signatures don't count.

Hi Omerolvey,

I'm from Brazil and, for your own security, everything is sign by contract. E-mails, payments receipt etc doesn't count.

This artist has made some assets for me during a time. But this asset was the last one he started working on my project. Unfortunately he left unfinished and I'm not going to use it anymore. Hope it's could be useful for the community.

He/she may not of been lazy, maybe he/she wasn't asked to finish it, or it was just a concept to begin with when it was paided for. I just wanted to be clear on whether the money paided for the asset was for the asset and not a license for the asset only as it could of come from an asset marketplace for all I know. I'm not sure anyone can OWN the asset, only the rights to the asset, as the work will always be the property of the author regardless of country, and as this is public domain now anyone can use it for whatever, am I right? this asset was paided for by the submitter with the exclusive rights being given to them indefinitely, which will need a contract written as proof of rights ownership which the submitter claims he/she has.:)

I have all exclusive rights about this asset signed by contract.
