Character Studio — Pixel Art Editor
Example sprites made with Character Studio — a free browser-based pixel art editor for 2D games.
▶ Try the editor directly in your browser:

▶ Forum post (where the tool lives):

What you get:
• 64×64 PNG sprites — idle, walk, and still frames for each direction
• Front, side, and back views included
• Project source files in .txt format — import them back into Character Studio to keep editing, or share them with others for collaboration
• Fully CC0 — free for commercial and non-commercial use, no credit required
About the tool:
Character Studio runs entirely in the browser, nothing to install. It comes with a ready-to-use base model so beginners can start drawing right away. Features include:
• Multi-direction support (front / side / back)
• Animation frames with onion-skin opacity
• Brush effects: Normal, Spray, Glow, Texture
• Frame management: copy, paste, delete, flip, rotate
• Texture Mode (tileset preview, 3×3 repetition)
• Export to PNG and to editable .txt project files
• Pixel-art palette, favorites, mirror lines, and more
Work in progress:
I'm currently finishing the animation art (walk cycles, idle animations, and additional poses). As soon as they're ready, I'll update this submission with new PNG sprites and updated project files.
More example sprites coming soon!

Comments
That's pretty cool.
However, it is not an "asset" strictly speaking. Asset submissions on OGA are not meant for applications and functional tools. You could share assets made with this tool, and link to the the tool's source in the description, but the assets shared here should not be the tool, they should be the assets made with the tool. The tool itself could be shared on the forum ( https://opengameart.org/forums/2d-art , https://opengameart.org/forums/3d-art , https://opengameart.org/forums/programming-0 , or https://opengameart.org/forums/show-your-project whichever you feel is most appropriate) or on a code sharing platform such as github.EDIT: Fixed, thanks! :)
Thanks for the tips! I wasn't really aware of how this kind of content works here on OGA. Feel free to remove this post if you prefer, or leave it as a redirect to the forum post.
Thanks again for the guidance!
If you have any example assets that were created with this tool, I recommend uploading them to this submission. That will make this a valid submission of assets.
Otherwise, (without any assets) the submission will be removed soon. It is your preference.EDIT: Fixed, thanks! :)
As you can see in the preview image, there's a base model I created myself (front view). I'm still working on all the animation art — walk, idle, side, back, etc. As soon as I finish, I'll not only update the project but also release the art in both PNG and text format.
I lost a lot of time on the project itself, so only now am I getting back to actually creating the pixel art. Please be patient with me — this is something new for me, but it's not difficult. Thanks!
