I created (from scratch) the portraits of some girls and boys, and then cut it into components to be able to colorize them.
Included in the .zip file are some samples, and the .xcf file I use in GIMP. I have not extracted the individual components, but it is easy to do by just hiding all other layers and then extracting.
There are two female and two male haircuts, with ponytails or beard additions possible. Each model has 3 eyes and 4 mouths. Every component can be colorized to your liking.
This is completely public domain, do whatever you wish with it. If you want to attribute me, that's fine, but not necessary. We need more public domain artwork!

Try colorizing with layers, not the fill tool ;) You see those ugly white pixels neat the black outlines? Yeah, avoid those by not using anti-aliased lines and the color fill tool.
