This is my derivative of Leonard Pabin's animated ocean tileset. Here's the original https://opengameart.org/content/whispers-of-avalon-animated-ocean-tileset

Changes: Doubled the frames from 5 to 10. So it's a smoother running animation now. Added a shallow/deep effect and recolored it with my extended DB32 palette.

I remixed this years ago so it's a little sloppy and could be better but I think it's a big upgrade from the original.

It works perfect with my recoloration of zookeeper's BFW water animation. https://opengameart.org/content/the-battle-for-wesnoth-water-animation

Take a look here to see a screenshot of how I used this with my ZRPG tiles  https://opengameart.org/sites/default/files/forum-attachments/ZRPG3.png

The gif preview uses my remix of the old BFW water by Rhyging5. Which is available here https://opengameart.org/content/the-battle-for-wesnoth-old-water-animati...

The gif preview also has some palm trees made by Leonard Pabin and Frode Lindeijer aka (Modanung) for The Mana World.

I'm in the process of submitting all of this ZRPG stuff. So there's lots more comming soon.

I love that you have two versions here (not to mention the .xcf!) Very helpful! Thank you.

That is some beautiful animation Zabin! Thank you & good work.

Edit: Do you know what the licensing for the palm trees tiles are? I believe The Mana World is a GPL project, correct?

Thanks for the nice commets. I plan to organize them in a smaller image more simular to how Len organized his.

@AntumDeluge Yes, The Mana World uses GPLv2 to be exact. I've contacted Modanung and he said he likes to use CC-BY-SA 4.0 now but consider this dual licensed. He made the big palm tree. Len made the smaller derivative and I could only consider it GPLv2 because I haven't been able to contact him. All of his stuff submitted here on OGA is dual licensed but this tree isn't here. I got it from TMW forums when they made them.

I want to license Lens tree under CC-BY-SA but I'm not confident in my decision on this. Look here https://faq.tuxfamily.org/Game:EvolOnline/En  Evol online is a fork of The Mana World and if you check some images of the game on google you'll notice they are using these trees a lot. There it says the art is licensed CC-BY-SA 3.0 So I think it's safe to say Len's smaller palm tree is dual licensed.

FYI there's a Github repository for TheManaWorld/Evol Online where current development is happening, and there's a detailed attribution document here, which indicates the trees are CC-BY-SA 3.0 https://github.com/themanaworld/client-data/blob/8a466c26e3c551d6057b20e... . I think that's pretty good evidence it can be used CC-BY-SA 3.0.

gpl 3.0 means I have to go open source on my project right? :c

@Ataos No, it only applies to the asset. If you modify it, you need to release the modified copy as GPL 3.0. If you use it as it is you need to state its license with a link back to the asset. If you embed it deep in to your source code (so it becomes part of the source code), then I guess you would need to release your code under GPL.

And if I only make a code for add it on the map? Do I need to release all the code ?

Keep it in its own file. I don't know what happens if you merge it into an image-atlas or a map.

Even GNU thinks GPL is not a good choice for media assets.

Fortunately, for this submission you can use the less confusing CC-BY-SA license.
