This was done as a bit of practice making accurate 8-bit music with 0CC-Famitracker, a backwards-compatible fork of FamiTracker with a few extra features added in. It's basically just a straight transcription of Pachelbel's Canon in D to NES hardware sound without add-on chips. The zip file includes the original 0cc file in case you want to tweak the intruments or make additional changes.

This is about as public domain as public domain gets, so no credit is necessary. If you want to give credit anyway, you can call it "an 8-bit transcription by Ctske of Johann Pachelbel's Canon and Gigue for 3 violins and basso continuo", re-phrased however would fit into your project the best.

This is really great! Can 0cc files be opened in Famitracker?

Reminds me of that one lemmings tune, which is of course based of this ^^
